Burger Tex, Oak Hill’s local burger joint

16 years in Austin, Mr. and Mrs. Sang Ju greet you with a smile in their casual, clean and friendly restaurant. Boasting fresh (never frozen) choice USDA all beef patties with a menu to please even the vegan pallet. Veggie burgers. Chicken -fried or grilled, catfish, shrimp, so much more.
The food is so good that even the Green Beret’s host their monthly food fest in the Oak Hill location and leave full-n-happy every time! They’ve gifted Burger Tex with an American Flag which hangs proudly on the wall of a semi-private dining room.
Hwy 71 and William Cannon in the Oak Hill Centre. Open Seven days a week. Oh! Be sure to hug multi-lingual Ms. Paula. She’s Burger Tex’s greatest asset!

CUSTOMER SERVICE TO THE MAX! Each employee greets us with a smile, a thankful attitude and genuine interest in leaving a positive impression on our family. My husband appreciates the free wireless, the kids like the RedBox. Me? I like being treated with kindness and appreciation. Everybody wins. The rest of the McDonald’s chains have MUCH to learn here…

Spicy Parrot in Lakeway – Date night or bring the whole family!
We found Great food. Thirst quenchers. A healthy dose of Austin’s best music (even bought a CD). Beautiful atmosphere. Where the owner’s are well enough staffed they stop and get to know you.
The Spicy Parrot is a must, not just once, but once a week! Need a regular hang out or simply a neighborhood spot to call your own, fly into the Parrot. Where feel good cookin’ and warm neighbors are keepin’ the lights on for you.
Drop a line to let us know when you’re goin’ and we’ll meet you there!

Zen Japanese food-fast, with four locations in Austin
When out and about in Austin, be sure to check out Zen for lunch!
John and I popped into the Brodie location for a quick chicken bowl and sushi. The Ahi was as fresh as I’ve had and the Teryaki as tangy and salty as we hoped. Edamame, ready-to-eat Bento box, healthy and vegan menu’s…even Gluten-free beer. Cozy. Clean. And super affordable quality food. We love this place.
The Spicy Parrot – Lakeway’s Comfort Food
Brenda Parrot and gang welcome new comer’s to the “place across the street.” The taco stand still serves the areas finest tacos, but the Spicy Parrot is an excellent local hang out to prop up your boots, throw back a cold one, and enjoy home style food with a bang! Live music during the week. Kids are absolutely welcome. Meet your friends for lunch and bring your family to Sunday Brunch. We are definitely going back!
The Spicy Parrott Diner & Tavern is located in Lakeway Plaza behind the southwest corner of RR 620 South and Lohman’s Crossing, right behind and between Wendy’s and Bank of America.
Where Thai meets Texas, Blue Bamboo Lakeway

Hungry for lunch and enjoy left-overs? Rice, chicken, beef, noodles, so much from which to choose… even for those with gluten allergies, like me.
Fresh and Fast! The folks at Blue Bamboo love the food they cook and us for whom they serve.
This restaurant is super clean and pretty comfy. Upon our first visit, they made a point to remember our names and welcome us warmly. They are located right next door to Serin Nails II in the Shops at the Galleria across from the mall off 71 and 620.
We greatly enjoyed our meals, egg rolls, Thai tea and the friendly folks whom were watching football at the bar. This is a must for Lakeway and Bee Cave residents who enjoy Asian cuisine!
Mangieri’s in Lakeway
Why did we try Mangieri’s? We were hungry and needed food fast but didn’t want fast-food. Right across 620 from Randall’s we spotted a Pizza place with a screened in back porch. ”Perfect!”
Greeted with smiles, we were offered any available seat we wanted; inside, outside or even the bar. Our waiter, Ben, seemed to really enjoy his job and made us feel very welcome.
Ben explained Mangieri’s is a locally owned place with carry-out and delivery from two locations. (the other in Circle C) Read the rest of this entry »
