Bob Roberts Photography
Last week, we needed a photographer, and fast. But we didn’t need just anyone. We needed someone that could provide us with a great “headshot” for a book release, at a reasonable price. Of the many photographers we called for help, only two got back to us right away–and Bob Roberts was the one who was able to meet us the next day, on a weekend. We are really happy with the results. On top of this. Bob is just a really great guy. With over 25 years in the business in Austin, he knows the best places to take photos for what effect at what time of day. He takes his time discussing the purpose and getting the right pose for what you need.
In addition, Bob specializes in photographs for weddings, portraits, business functions, teams, sporting events, children, schools, scenes, buildings, aircraft, and social occasions.

The Church at Bee Cave celebrates SNOW days
The Church at Bee Cave has started a new ministry they call “SNOW” days. The ministry started this summer, when there wasn’t any snow in sight, so what’s that name all about? Well, Snow stands for “Serving Neighbors On Weekends”. It’s become a regular way to for the church members and community partners, such as Home Depot and Chick-fil-A to help serve in the community.
Each month the church responds to a family in need and helps provide yard work, home repairs — well, just about anything the family needs. Some projects, since the new ministry started, include: a food drive for Lake Travis Crisis Center, helping with playground refurbishment at Lakeway City Park, a Lake Pointe Elementary garden project, family home building and repair projects in Hudson Bend, Apache Shores and Spicewood, and an upcoming mission trip to Progresso, Mexico.
The Church at Bee Cave meets on Sunday at 10:30 AM, at Miss Julie’s Learning Center at 201 Ranch Road 620 just north of Lakeway. Email Pastor Matt Peacock for more information.
Netflix on the Wii
I’m always in search of ways and resources to simplify the days and nights of our big family. Did you know you can watch movies and play games across the internet from your Wii console? I just recently learned this. Netflix will send you a free cd to place inside your Wii. With your computer, simply add movies to your instant Queue. Turn on your TV and voila, use your remote to navigate. Movies at your fingertips. Read the rest of this entry »

Zinger’s: Game Time at Dinner
We heard about a great new place called Zinger’s. Since a Zinger was my favorite childhood snack (Chocolate Zingers from Hostess) I thought it would be a great idea to check things out.
Zingers has a lot of things going for it… especially for a family. We have adults, and we have kids, so there are a lot of varied interests. At first glance Zingers is somewhat of a sports bar, but don’t let that hold you back. Zingers has great food at great prices. The big ol’ bar features drinks of ever kind. Many flat screen TVs including one huge one to watch soccer, football, or whatever. The place is loaded with table-side games (you have to put $ money in, but they are fun and inexpensive). Our table was right by the Wii and Rock Band making dinner and play a total blast!
Outdoor and indoor seating (of course) plus Thursday night music on the lawn (at least, during the summer). Since it is located right on the main drag of the Galleria, the location is super convenient for going to a movie or shopping before or after dinner.
We look forward to going back…maybe even without the kiddos=)
